Purchase Agreement
I have decided to nip the start of something before it gets out of control....
I'm talking about not receiving back the 'Vet check up' from new owners. I, as the breeder, make sure that your new puppy was seen the day -if not the day before -it was shipped or delivered to you. This check up is to validate that your puppy was seen by a Vet and was found to be in good health and to the breed standard. As the new owners I give you 72 hours after possession of the puppy to do the same and to make sure he/she made the trip okay. Most new owners have a few weeks to book a appointment with a Vet and choose to do so. l don't want a few months to go by, and in the middle of the night I get a call with YOUR ER Vet saying he doesn't think the puppy is going to make it and wants to know about the health history. Sooooooooooo, PLEASE, when you receive the results from YOUR puppy check up send me a copy or you WONT have a health guarantee....
Please don't take this wrong or it to be snobby, I'm just trying to insure you get and maintain a healthy, happy, puppy! So, I'm asking PLEASE sign the contract BELOW and send it back with YOUR vet check up ASAP... Thank you.

Special arrangements & imperfections/problems brought to the buyer's attention:
The breeder is giving a guarantee that the said puppy/dog:
1.Is in good health at time of purchase
2. Had appropriate shots for age
3. Been wormed for appropriate age
4. Is in good standings with one or more clubs; AKC, APRI, ACA or CKC
By signing this agreement you acknowledge that if your puppy was shipped, locally picked up or if we met you, you are required to have a licensed Vet check within 2 working business days (or 2 days following a Sunday) from date of acquiring your puppy. This is to insure your baby made the journey ok and it also validates your health guarantee. By this time it has already received a puppy check from a Vet, all your doing is validating that the said puppy made the transaction with ease. If your puppy does not receive a licensed Vet check within this allotted time I will not honor any health guarantee what so ever regardless of reason. From the day of purchase (of possession) Lap Dogs guarantees this puppy to be free of Parvo, Distemper, Corona Virus, Parainfuenza and AdenoVirus Type II for a period of 1 week from the last vaccination the puppy received by me on the condition the puppy receives a vaccination every 2 weeks until the puppy is 16 weeks of age (total of 6 puppy shots). These must be given by a licensed Vet in your state even if your a dog breeder. You are required to keep regular Vet visits, shots, and deworming up to date... If the occasion arrived you may have to provide this information.
All puppies are guaranteed for 7 days against brucellosis if tested at this first puppy check. Puppies are guaranteed for 6 months from date of birth against `life threatening' birth defects common to the breed: As in heart murmurs (stage 4 and over ONLY), kidneys, and liver problems. Not guaranteed for Hypoglycemia and Coccidia regardless of level or reason. (Your puppy already has been given medication for Coccidia & Giardia ) For all my Mom's, Dad's and puppies I use 2 great Animal Vets that specialize in small animals. They are very up to date on the latest dog information. Your puppy will also receive one puppy shot of Vanguard 5 + and another following every 2-3 weeks until sold. Also, dewormed 2 or more times with one or more with, Pyrantel 50, Panacur, and given medication against Coccidia and Giardia. As added precaution I also give a 1/2 dose of Parvo and a full dose of nasal Bortadella ( Kennel cough). I do provide you with this information on his/her health history. Please give this paper to your vet so they may continue with this program this does not pertain to babies under 2 pounds.
If at any time a puppy is NOT kept on a Vet schedule that is recommended here any and all health guarantee is void. ...YOU MAY HAVE TO SHOW PROOF SO PLEASE HAVE YOUR VET give you the STICKERS OFF THE VACCINATION BOTTLES- you may have to ask your vet for them.. here is what we recommend;
puppy wormed 1@ every 2 month, (Wormer of Vets or your choice
puppy shots- Vanguard 5+ @ every 2-3 wks until 16 wks of age or 5 set of puppy shots
Adult Booster - Vanguard 5 with Lepto every 12 months, (given at 1 yr. of age and once a yr. after
1 Rabies before 6 months, given 1 every yr. or 1 for 3 years (required after 12 weeks if shipping)
Kennel Cough- (give 1yr,every year or more if travel or boarding
Heart guard started before 6 mo old..... (give by Vets directions although you may use a different brand then the vaccination brand that we use, we must insist the puppy vaccination shots to NOT have Lepto in it (until your puppy is over 1 yr. old). If you choose to do so you void this health agreement. SO ask your Vet in advance before you take your puppy. Lepto is know to cause harm and can/ have killed toy breed puppies. We DO NOT give it here at Lap Dogs Kennel to puppies and by you doing so this will void your health guarantee. I must insist this due to problems in the past. It is only fair to the puppy for it's safety. The new owner is responsible for all Vet expenses after the purchase regardless of reason. Your puppy came with a certified Vet health checkup that was signed within hours of the purchase of your new puppy. The ONLY thing that may go wrong is stress due to shipping or travel. This is why you are given toy breed information on how to handle this.
Once down payment or full payment is made I refund no money regardless of when it was made or reason of dogs death. I will replace same breed, same sex of pup upon availability. You will receive first pick of any litter of that breed. If death occurred after you receive your puppy and it's something that will cause him / her to not live and is required to be put to sleep. BEFORE any action is taken you must contact me immediately of acknowledging the problem and provide me your Vet contact information and /or statement to see if my Vet comes to the same collusion. If for some reason your puppy had to be put to sleep BEFORE contacting me you must have the following information; The original Vet Visit with diagnosis of said problem with an autopsy, a microchip number if available or DNA taken from the puppy for identification. They must be performed by your state department of Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (not your Vet) so that my Vet and/or I can confer with him /her about the problem. I will take all things into consideration, but I will not second guess the decisions that my vet recommends. At this point all puppies have passed a required vet puppy check up for their appropriate age and/or required shippers health check if shipping. These Vet appointments were made within HOURS on the day of shipping or picking up.... Again, at no time will I refund money, travel expense nor any amount on a Vet bill. If a health problem does arise that DOES NOT require the purchased puppy to have to be put to sleep and you wish to NOT keep it I will replace it with the next available puppy of same sex and breed but you must return the puppy back to Lap Dogs Kennel with you providing shipping if it's needed. If you would like to KEEP the puppy in question I will offer another puppy of same sex same breed at cost of 75% of your original pups purchase price. Remember, we are dealing with Mother Nature here and at times even all that I can and do do is not enough.
I do my utmost to represent my puppies honestly. Sizes and weight at maturity are stated to the best of my ability by estimating puppies at the time of purchase. I will not refund any amount of down payment, purchase price or replace a puppy that was purchased from me over the internet (or in person) if you thought it would be larger / smaller or even if you didn't like the looks/color or any other reason. I will only replace a puppy with that breed of puppy regardless of reason!
Remember you purchased a puppy by not seeing it in person and was depending on someone else's likes and dislikes to relay the puppy information to you. Sometimes despite my best efforts a puppy will be slightly smaller or larger than I anticipate or had quoted. I, as the breeder, nor anyone else can predict 100% what your puppy can/will look like. Just like humans cant predict what human babies will look like as adults!
Realize that you are buying a PET quality puppy for companionship only and I do not sell my babies for the sole purpose of breeding. (As in for Kennel breeders) At this age there is no way for me to guarantee reproductive organ work as adults. I also do not guarantee -even if a puppy is out of 'show stock' pedigree- that it is, would, or could be a 'show dog'. When a puppy is purchased I at times will not mark it limited registration leaving it up to the new owners to decide if they want to mark it limited or not. Again, my babies are sold as companion pets ONLY ~ not breeders!
Your puppy has been socialized in an environment with love and safety in mind with many different surrounding as possible here at my house. I have gone out of my way to make sure he/she was not exposed to or was around any diseases. Lap Dogs has tried to give you the healthiest puppy possible. You are buying this puppy as is and will assume all responsible from this date on.
This guarantee is null & voided if the buyer exposes the puppy directly or indirectly to possible infected environments like pet stores, public places, grooming centers, dogs or people at the vet clinic, Etc. Until the puppy gets all 4 vaccinations. (Some diseases can be transmitted indirectly; even a child can bring a virus to your puppy's mouth without even knowing it)
Once again, due to diseases that are beyond my control and that your new puppy can be exposed once it is off my property, you acknowledge that you have read the information offered on my web page containing `General Information'. With this information, you were given the chance to ask questions before purchasing my puppy. You also acknowledge that I have given you (threw e-mail, snail male, web page or phone) information that I feel you should know before you purchase one of my toy breed puppies. Although we require our tiny tiny babies to be spay or neutered to forsake the risk of being bred we ask on those we don't require that you be considerate of others in your area, to go ahead have yours SPAY or NEUTER as soon as you can!
(Check with your Vet, males can be neutered at 8 weeks and some will spay females at 6 mo of age!)
Shipping and Transportation:
Shipping arrangements are made by the Breeder with the Breeders airlines only: Continental Airline . If on a rear occasion another airline is used you will be responsible for the price difference between the two airlines. Breeder will not be responsible once the puppy is checked in at the airport or once puppy is turned over to you. Purchasers are aware of the health problems that can arise form shipping .You acknowledge this and will accept full responsibility. Shipping charges break down as the following; $125.00, $ 25.00 dog crate for you to keep $ 30.00 Shippers certificate per dog/puppy (required to ship) $ 70.00 Travel to airport (5 ½ hours, 4 hr travel + 90 min. at airport) . $250.00 Grand total for shipping.. add $18.00 more if your puppy is over 12 weeks because it will require a Rabies from the Vet. (This quote is providing the puppy & crate are UNDER 9 pounds -if it goes over 9 # the ticket ALONE will cost $169.00) if this should happen I hold registration papers until the balance of shipping is paid or reschedule a shipping date until paid.. Purchase price includes the puppy package ONLY If the purchase puppy is UNDER 6 months of age and asked for....
If at any time your puppy needs to be held over at the Dallas airport to catch it's connection flight you will be responsible for the extra cost. If the weather is okay here in Oklahoma and where you live that doesn't not mean the plane wont be grounded for weather condition in Texas..... I have experienced this first hand (and it was NOT a good one) so PLEASE I will advise you to call Continental Airlines to see what the weather conditions are like and if your flight will be on time. You may do so by calling 1-800-575-3335, and give them your information with flight and conformation # .
Do to new owners not reading the General Information, I have decided to add the following to my purchase agreement. This will provide me with the protection I need for those who decided to not read the general information or do what is needed to insure a healthy puppy once you have it in your possession. I have had new owners pick up babies (or we have met them) and decided that they wanted to show off little George to the family & friends. By not going straight home and letting him get accumulated to his new surroundings these little toy breed WILL STRESS ....Let me stress again,THEY CAN NOT HANDLE the stress at this time!!!! You will encounter a problem with Hypoglycemia/Coccidia because of the stress. IF you are purchasing a puppy under 2 pounds at the time you take possession, regardless of age or breed , I will not be held libel for any causes of death/health problems REGARDLESS once it has been in your possession or checked in at the airport. Any puppies UNDER 2. pounds is bought as is and will be covered ONLY for 2 weeks after the required Vet visit). Please be advised that problems will/can arise in these toy babies because since birth they have been in a safe, stable, unchanged environment that did not include traveling in a car for hours, manhandled by small kids, and left alone without littermates. Be assured I will NOT release a baby to ship, or you to meet/pick up, if I think it would not be okay health wise. I am not a new fly-by-night breeder and I take steps in my breeding program to eliminate problems like hypoglycemia, anemia and stress in puppies and inheritable health problems from my parents. But be advised that shipping or exposing your puppy to any new environment can cause some of the following; Coughing, Diarrhea, Hypoglycemia, refusing to eat, Infection, uncontrollable shaking, throwing up, no energy, no interest in anything. If in a emergency you have to take your puppy to the Vet within the first 7 days and he/she was diagnosed with any level of Coccidia and/or hypoglycemia I WILL NOT COVER it. It will do no good asking me to do so! If stressed it is natural for a puppy to test positive for Coccidia and anything under a 200 hypoglycemia level is totally unacceptable to me or my Vet! So again, it is VERY important to MAKE sure your puppy eats solid food & drinks ( REGARDLESS of HOW you have to make him/her do it).
As soon as you get him/her in your hands, give pea size amounts of Nutri-Cal every 30 minutes or so for the first day home and as often as you can during the night. This could be the difference if your baby dies or lives! Do this for at least 5 days or until he/she will eat often on it's own . Give a full bottle of Pedialyte [unflavored] from Wal-Mart/grocery store to insure he/she is drinking. Again, if you DO NOT PERSONALLY SEE them drink, use a small syringe or eye dropper and MAKE them drink at least 2 cc every 30 minutes! For toy breeds the stress to it's new home alone can cause a puppy to stress out and die within hours. Here's a tip; if you have to do it for a human new born baby....... you have to do it for your 4 legged new born baby!
It is beyond my control to say where a puppy can stay or go. However, please be advised that my health guarantee is not transferable in any way . If you should resale this puppy then you need to be prepared to give the health guarantee.
By signing your signature above you acknowledge that this purchase agreement will stand in a Oklahoma court of law and take precedent over any and all other written or oral agreement[s]. You wave any and all puppy lemon laws in your state in favor of this agreement. All personal checks will be held for 15 days to clear, those that return are subject to a $50.00 surcharge plus cost of check.
